Nose: Honey, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Buttered Toast
Palate: Vanilla, Honey, Cinnamon, molasses, oak, just a hint of roasted chilli peppers
Finish: Cinnamon, Oak, and Molasses

This is an ok rum. Its not a crazy exotic funk rum, but it doesn't try to be. This knows exactly what it wants and gets straight to the point. This is enjoyable enough to sip on slowly. The nose is Honey, Vanilla, Cinnamon, and I pick up just a hint of something I can't quite put my finger on, maybe buttered toast. The palate gives you exactly what the aroma says and is refreshingly direct. On the palate, just as the nose, I get strong Vanilla, Honey, and Cinnamon notes accompanied by deep molasses and oak. I also get just a slight faint hint of roasted chili peppers.
This rum has a rich mouthfeel to it and its flavors are deep. The aftertaste is unfortunately shorter than I anticipated but is a consistent and pleasant combination of molasses, oak, and cinnamon profile. In many respects this rum is like Diplomatico but less sweet. All in all it is a somewhat enjoyable experience even if it doesn't have anything especially exotic. After trying some 75+ rums now this doesnโ€™t rate as high as it used to. It is the quintessential Latin American rum, with minimal dosing. Unfortunately it doesnโ€™t mix that well in comparison to others while being a bit too flat as a sipper.

This rum I feel is being held back. The notes are there, but aren't really forceful. I feel like they purposely hold it back to appeal to more people.

This is a nice complex rum with a variety of flavors. This should be enjoyed neat or on the rocks. The only complaint is the price point. For $10 less I can get some Ron Zacapa, which is just as good, and may be better as far as the aromatics are concerned.

I liked this rum, not one of my favourite but surely an intresting bottle. I found it better with a bit of water.

I have to admit to this being added to my list of favorites as it's just to my taste. Not too heavy but with a good strong spicy flavor. Yummy!
