Another interesting one I found languishing on the shelves of local mom & pop shop.
I'm having a harder time identifying aromas and flavors in this one though. On the nose, I'm getting some alcohol, but a cherry-sour apple note. It's bright, and somewhat tangy.
I'd say it is slightly sweeter than the average "light" rum, at least from what all I have sampled, but not overly. Good flavors with fruit and light wood and something else I'm still trying to figure out. Well-balanced,with just a mild burn but very tolerable. Relatively short finish, nothing unpleasant here.
It's not clear to me if this rum is still being made. Intended for mixing, but it's actually not a half-bad sipper. It makes an interesting Daiquiri, passes the test for me. I do recommend it.
