Very sweet/fruity nose with notes of vanilla, oak, cherries/berries. Very nice flavor with several of the same notes and including caramel and a Zinfandel-like zing. Smooth finish with only a little burn. Overall, wonderful sipper. Definitely need to keep a bottle of this on hand.

It tastes like a mixed drink of rum and bourbon. The angry kick of bourbon is modified by the rum, so it is just a bit bitter and only a moderate explosion of alcohol. It still has the bitter throat-drying finish of bourbon. No surprise since it was aged in bourbon barrels. In a sense, it is like a more laid-back sipping whiskey, but definitely not rum. I drank about half of the sample straight, and then I found something to mix in it. I am not a fan of this, and would not buy it for drinking. I would definitely buy it for cooking except that it costs about $100. I can find cheap bourbon to use for barbeque and other meats. I am giving it a 6 out of respect for its bourbon qualities.
Caramel, wood & YUMMY on the nose.
Taste is deep caramel, wood, slightly sweet, dried fruit followed by a little heat, that you would expect from a slightly higher proof rum (48%). Smooth mouthfeel.
Long, smooth finish that keeps on kicking.
This was sent to me as part of the RumRatings tasting kit for this quarter (23Q3).
This is another ok rum from Foursquare. It's not bad, but to me, it's just too dry to be great.
Smells and tastes of bourbon, spice, and tobacco. Not noticing any zin.
A decent rum, but not great to me.

Nose: Brown sugar, banana, plum
Palate: A juice-like sweetness and a thick mouthfeel; banana, brown sugar; more fire than I’d expect from 48%
Tail: Fiery and oaky
Very tasty, but only like 70% my cup of tea. Would definitely buy at a lower price point.

Tastes too much like a Foursquare rum. Which can be both good and bad.
Rum Indelible (nesmazatelný) zrál celkem 11 let - 5 let v sudech po bourbonu a poté ještě 6 let v sudech po Zinfandelu z Kalifornie.
Vyrobeno bylo zřejmě 9000 lahví pro EU.
Exceptional Cask Selection Mark XVIII (vydán v září 2021).
Aroma: Vanilka, cukrový sirup, pražené slané mandle, ostružiny, jeřabiny, zatuchlost.
Chuť: Dřevitá, lehce štiplavá, závan karamelu.
Dozvuk: Dubové dřevo, vanilka, sušené ovoce. Střední.
Sladkost: 0/3
Ochutnán vzorek
V ECS je společně s Premise "nejslabším" kouskem. Vůně je parádní, ale chuť i dozvuk nijak neohromí - zvláště ve srovnání s Détente či dalšími ovíněnými FQ.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is one of the few rums from Foursquare ECS that has no damn bourbon notes. Five years for one of the blends in a Zinfandel cask did the trick.
I had written off any more purchases of these rums due to most of them having excessive bourbon notes. Since I liked their Zinfandel Cask Rum from a few years back, I took a chance on this one today for $92 US. The Zinfandel notes are also well hidden, only serving the purpose to get rid of the bourbon notes and balance things out.
This one is bottled at 96 proof, which is not quite being overproof. Still in all, it has a bite on the tongue when first sipped neat. Letting it breathe smooths the bite out, but adding one small ice cube to help it breathe really smooths things out. I am not one who needs endorphin rushes, just smooth tasting rum like this one. Very well pleased with this purchase. And I know where to get more bottles! Time will tell.
Update the next day: The next sipper was OTR. There was a bitter finish that I had missed when first opened. Then I remembered how ice cubes can release hidden tannins. So my next sample was with spring water only. No more bitter finish! My next try was adding ice cubes and letting them melt until the mixture is at room temperature. Guess what? Once those evil tannins are released, one is stuck with them! This does not change my rating. I just know how to deal with it's bad side.
Update August 13, 2022: I have had this rum on my shelf for more than a month and have had no desire to go back to it for taste. I am now convinced that these rums are only good for a very expensive drunk with no penalty the next day. I now lower my initial rating from an 8 to a 7. I will no longer buy any of these overly rated and expensive rums, which were created to convert bourbon drinkers to rum. I have no need for such a conversion..
