Aroma: Ovocná nakyslost, dřevo, vanilka, jakoby smetanové
Chuť: Dřevo, karamel, velmi štípe
Dozvuk: Hodně dřeva, koření, nejdříve sládne do vanilky, ale po chvíli velmi hořkne. Dozvuk je výrazný, dlouhý a hořký

Porovnáván s 2005: Ve vůni a chuti jsou jen drobně odlišné, ale 2007 je v dozvuku hořký až moc na můj vkus. Nicméně i tak se jedná o klasicky dobrý FQ.

Naozaj príjemný Foursquare,ale zároveň dodávam,že pre mňa najslabšia rocnikovka doteraz. Je jemnejší, menej výrazný a nevyletel som z treniek ako pri FSQ2008, tam je ten ex-bourbon výraznejší

This rum deserves its separation from others.

The esters are strong with this one.

Spice on the nose and spice on the palate. All with a lovely burn. Remarkably "clean" finish despite the funkiness.

This isn't a pleasurable one for me, but I can appreciate the creation.

Z počátku cítím lihovost, ale v chuti je spíše znát jeho síla. Převládají tóny dřeva a vanilky. V chuti je cítit i mírná nasládlost. Celkově hodnotím jako velmi podařený rum.

V chuti vanilka, sud, a sušené ovoce. Vůbec nejde poznat vyšší voltáž. Výborný.

12-year-old ESC bottling, matured in former bourbon barrels. At the time of the tasting, I purposely didn't look what it was because I only had a sample.

Smell: Very nice and balanced smell. One of the better ECS. It starts with caramel sweetness, dried fruits and bourbon wood aromas. It flatters with raisins, grapes, cranberries and vanilla. A few darker barrel aromas are noticeable. Overall, it is not as bitter as many other bottlings. Of the heavier aromas, I only perceive some tobacco, unfortunately no leather or other aromas.

Taste: It starts with a lot of vanilla. Bourbon wood and dried fruits. The sharpness increases immediately. I would guess 12 years because it is sharp but not too bright. As it gets warm, it darkens, revealing caramel and dried fruits (plums). Then the dark barrel aromas come out and the bitterness of the tannins slightly, the mouth becomes dry. Hazelnut is now very present.
The finish is sharp, a lot of bourbon wood and vanilla. Dark barrel aromas with dried fruit.

Aftertaste: wood, vanilla, dried fruit

The rum is quite balanced. Unfortunately, he lacks the complexity to compete in the top league. It is also slightly too spicy on the palate. But it's still an upper middle class bottling.

The aroma is not as strong as 2005 but I would say that’s because the dram I had was from a first pour of a newly opened bottle. If given a little more time in the bottle I think it would have lot more on the pallet.

Tastes great but I would like to try again soon.

Opened this after finishing the Nobiliary bottle from the ECS Range. Not quite as good as the previous bottle, but still very good rum with strong bourbon cask character.

Being a little higher prof this has some bite. Sometimes I like it that way and sometimes I add a few drops of water. It has a great burnt caramel flavor.
