This rum aged 15 months in barrels. It is a mix of pot still and column still.
Lightly spiced aroma. taste is a bit more complex than Virgin Cask sibling with vanilla, bourbon and oak. Aftertaste could be longer. 7,5 points

Amazing rum tasting with Falcon91Wolvrn03 continued with Mount Gay Charred Cask. Beautiful and unique bottle and label design. Golden color. Mild smokiness to your nose. Much more smokiness to your palate. Very dry ending. Mount Gay Virgin Cask is considerably better in my books.

I prefer this to both the Mount Gay XO, and the Mount Gay 1703 Master Select! It's a surprisingly nice release from Mount Gay, and relatively affordable too. This is just a tad sweeter than typical Mount Gay rums, and very nicely smooth. I bought this as a two-pack with the Mount Gay Origin Series Vol I Virgin Cask, and a slightly prefer this to that, so this is one of my favorite Mount Gay rums!

Smells and tastes of caramel, spice, oak, bourbon, and vanilla. If you like Mount Gay rums, I highly recommend this!

Deffinantly get the complexities in flavor that comes with charring.

Bought for me by a staff member visiting Barbados. This was a welcomed surprise. 2x 375ml bottles are in the gift set: Virgin Cask & Charred Cash.
A little lighter in the coloring than one would expect. Young on the nose but mature enough on the taste. Slightly toasted notes with a touch of pepper to finish with.
For me itโ€™s not an 8/10 but not far off it.
