El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

Okay if there's really not an added sugar in this ron, I'm blown away! What a blast of flavors :O
Chocolate dust covered truffles blended with a beautiful juicy plums on palette, accompanied by almonds with oak-y tones. Also the smoothness of this ron is something hard to describe.
But what's that? Here comes the aftertaste explosion! Cherries, honey, flowers and more. It's all there and it lasts for a good moment.
You definitely know what you're doing if you choose this one.
Aye, this rum be older than the 12-year, but not by much. She smells amazing! Sweet, fruity, with a bit of caramel to boot. As flavor goes, those carry over, but there also be spice and heat, and unless I am mistook, a tiny bit of chocolate. Compared to the 12-year, this be smoother with less burn goin' down the hatch. Not as busy or as bright in terms of flavors, but still every bit as good. I ain't never had a rum made from cane sugar I didn't love, and this be no exception. Drink up, me hearties!!
Tmavá barva, výrazná vůně - švestky, koření, ořechy. Chuť švestek a ořechů. Dlouhý a plný finiš.
ED15 is hands down my favorite daily drinker. It is a very rare day that you can't find a bottle of this in my cabinet. I prefer to sip it over a single ice cube but my wife who is not a fan of rum loves it mixed with a little coke. I've used this in a couple different marinades and found it goes great with grilled fruit.
There are hints of coffee but its not overwhelming which i love as a non coffee drinker. It also has nice hits of allspice and candied orange peel.
I have tried many rums, some of which cost more that El Dorado, but from my tasting experience El Dorado 15 year old Reserve is one of the best!!!
recenze původního plnění
Zatímco mladší brácha mě věru nijak nedojal, tohle je úplně jiný frťan rumu! Vůně nic moc (pro můj vkus příliš štiplavá, i když dopitá prázdná sklenka voní skvěle), ale ta chuť! Ne každý panák, ale každý lok chutná jinak (a všechny uspokojivě), takže v jediné flašce máte vlastně nějakou stovku různých rumů.
Chuť se zpočátku zdála uspokojivá a stále polymorfní, i když podstatně víc vanilková než minule, což není zrovna můj nejoblíbenější odstín.
Seriously good rum. While I like my Barbados rums, I gave this another try. This was my 2nd choice when my plantation 20th anniversary was sold out. I didn’t expect to get more of what I like the plantation for. This is more dark, sweet and complex, and I like it too.
This is superior to the 12 year in my opinion by a decent margin. They are different for sure, but this is much more to my liking. In fact it is almost the opposite of the 12 year. The nose is almost overwhelming with heavy Banana and molasses and just a touch of tobacco. Imagine smelling a jar of concentrated molasses made from banana. If you take too deep of a whiff it is overwhelming. It almost made me worry about the taste...but....nope, it is delicious. The first taste is pure nutmeg and honey. Mid palate the banana returns in full force along with butter, butterscotch, nutmeg, rum cake, honey, and just a hint of fine tobacco. The aftertaste is sour cherry, alcohol, and allspice with banana lingering in the background. The only reason this isn’t a full 9 is that there is a slight lingering sourness that remains that I can’t quite place. The nose and palate to this rum are so powerful and complex that they make sipping this a wonderful experience.
*Update* So the more I drink this rum, the more I enjoy it. Further, despite other reviews, 6 months after having opened the bottle, the originals flavors and notes are still present and the rum has not degraded much despite the reported higher sugar level. Therefore given my increased level of enjoyment and shelf life beyond expectation, I am bumping this rum up a point.

"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
