Visited their factory in Sarasota and found all their rums to be above par in all areas.
I bought this at Total Wine & More based off the reviews here. Man you guys didn't disappoint! I enjoy my rums mixed with Coke or Pepsi and after having this, I won't be buying Captain Morgan anymore. I would say this rum and Foursquare Rum are my two go to spiced rums from here on out. I did end up buying 3 others besides this on and Foursquare but they are not as good. I love how balanced the spices are and it is so smooth. I do pick up on the nutmeg but it's not overpowering at all. I get no actual alcohol taste like I do with some other rums.
Easily one of the better spiced rums, especially considering it comes from a small local distillery. Great for mixing or on its own.
Bought this today because they were out of one of my favorite rums and I was recommended this. Basically, it tastes like rum fireball, I like cinnamon but that's basically the only flavor I get out of this. As well it is hot going down the gullet. I'd say look elsewhere. Probably a good mixer though, yet to try
I think clove, all spice and just a touch of cinnamon as I smell and start to taste this wonderful rum. Last night I thought I had found a top spiced rum in the Brinley Shipwrecked and now this; it is truly better, more spice less sweet. Only negative is that as a sipper it has a a bit more alcohol burn on the tongue than I like.
A very unique rum that rises to a level of greatness...
I'm not much of a rum sipper. However, I often take a taste from a new bottle...just to see what I'm about to experience. I have to say that this is the best tasting rum I've tried in some time! If you drink rum straight, you should give this one a try. For me...As always, I enjoy my rum over ice with a healthy splash of Coke.
Post-review edit. In spite of the nutmeg flavor punching you in the taste buds, this spiced rum just goes down so easily. For me, it gets better and better with every drink. This would easily be a solid 10 for me...if they could tone down the nutmeg just a tad. This will for sure be the star in some eggnog at Christmas!
This was a fantastic treat and break from the “basic” spiced rum everyone got.
This is a nice spiced rum. The flavours are balanced in mouth...
This was not my thing. Nutmeg and allspice is dominant. Otherwise it’s not bad, but unless I’m spiking egg nog or pumpin pie milk shakes, this isn’t a spiced rum I would keep around for cola or fruit juice mixer.
I’m not much for spiced rum. A friend of mine brought a bottle of this back for me as a gift. It is very different from the usual Captain Morgan’s or other standard selling spiced rums. Very subtle and tasty, not sweet or harsh. Now I’d like to try other offerings from Siesta Key!
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

From the moment the bottle is lifted, until the last golden droplet has slowly slid down the tumbler and into your mouth... You know that there is something different. I have enjoyed a fair number of rums from around the world after many years of temporary assignments and this is one of the few that quite simply exceptional. The aroma is that soft gingerbread, brown sugar, slight vanilla and soft spirit that is that of the siren calling one to come hither and enjoy. The flavors are soft, subtitle, yet if one is patient you will begin to taste the various layers and notes, followed by a finish that is absent the harsh burn of some other rums. This stuff is wicked....good... and you will want more. This rum must be the rum that several of the beach bum musicians wrote about and will undoubtably lead to many more creative inspirations. There are several other specialty bottles that are made/released in limited productions and they are well worth the effort if you can find them. This distillery is located in Sarasota, Florida and well worth the trip. Try the others selection from Siesta Key... You will not be disappointed, but this is my favorite.
