These 2 bottles I guess I would call shelved rums. Got them tried them 1-2 times not favorites to back of shelf. I'm sure all of you have had this happen before. I'm too cheap to pour them down the drain so I end up giving them away or sampling again like now. On paper how could you resist Single Cask aged 21 years....I'm getting ready to pour my tott of 21 down the sink don't want to kill my wife's plant. Likely did this first time too, butt not pairing well with my Nicaraguan cigar. The 14 year old is deffinately much better but still dry and bitter. Not sure what's going to come out of this afternoon maybe ill be brave enough just to pour them out. Flush todays toilet and start fresh tomorrow.

Jimmy:

Be creative and make your own rum punch from them, but by all means, do not use them to kill your wife's plant!

Anything that I rated below a 2 are those that I could not figure out what to mix with them no matter what. I really hate pouring them down the toilet out of fear that it will blow up!  But if you have a neighbor that is always a nervous wreck and will drink anything, give them to her. I have yet to meet a man who is as nervous as she is. That is how many of my rums rated at 4 or below wound up. I tasted all of what is shown in my cabinet, but never finished the worst ones myself.

For Wray & Nephew Overproof, a Jamaican rum punch recipe from Beach Bum Berry saved me from destroying my toilet and plumbing with it.  This drink became tolerable, but did I ever suffer the next day or two!!! Read my two reviews for 1-star rums as well as my 2-star rums!!!

Good luck, buddy!

Puring down a 21years old Chairman's Master Selection is really a pity. They have great flavors but they are dry for sure. Maybe you can keep it in a dark dry corner and try it again some time. To challange your taste buds every now and than. I have the same with my clairin bottling or my nine leaves.
