Buena opción si se considera su precio. Dorado oscuro, sabor y aroma intensos. Recomendable para noche de amigos.

A really soft and gentle rum, fruity and sweet. At the Price a very decent rum, a good sipper, and great for desserts.

Had a few rounds of this at a bar in the dominican republic. It's a good rum with a nice and soft scent of caramel and figs. The palette offer notes of burt sugar, oak and caramel, with a rather smoothe finish. Good value.

I am perhaps taken in by the products of other islands, or maybe I have been seduced by rums in other price points. But, I no longer see the Imperial as a sipping rum. It's solid, no doubt - with a shallower version of the characteristics of newer rums from other producers. But, it doesn't light my fire.

I'm sorry, how much is this rum? Yes, please! Great Spanish style rum. I'm a big fan of Dominican rums, and I think I'm starting to lean Barcelo over Brugal, although I love the higher end of Brugal's rums. On the other hand, this blows Brugal XV and 1888 out of the water.

Avast, mates! This be a much finer rum than some of the Barcelos I have had the pleasure of sippin'! She be sweet on the nose along with plenty o' oak to reel ya in, but then there be a bit of caramel, and unless I am mistook, APPLE - of all things - but not so much as to make it fruity... just enough get yer attention. But then way in the back, hidin' behind all the other smells, be a whiff of vanilla. On the tongue, she be no less invitin'! She be lightly sweet - much less than she smells - but then that fades into a hint of bitterness, like one lone dark cloud on an otherwise beautiful day. Aye, that bitterness hangs on for a bit, but not before pecans start to show themselves. Now, pecans be unexpected, but the real surprise was ta come when everythin' switched up and tasted more like walnuts! At the very end, there were a taste what reminded me of white pepper. As sippin' rums go, this be a gem, but she be different. If you be more inclined towards yer basic oak/vanilla/caramel variety of rum, ya might want to give this one a shot... or twelve. She be different, but, by fire and flame, she be tasty! Arrgh!

Un peu déçu. Peu d’arôme. Pas mauvais mais pas super non plus

6,5:On the nose, there is a quite balanced profile. The aromas that make up this profile are vanilla, wood, caramel, some nuts and a hint of orange/coconut with sweetness.
6,5:On the palate, the attack is soft but not sweet. The woodiness is present and even takes over the other aromas, without overpowering them. Caramel is still present, as vanilla and a hint of fruitiness.
6,3:The finish is quite long and moderately sweet. It is dominated by the notes of the wood, with coconut, vanilla and some roasted nuts.

Color, aroma and taste were super smooth and excellent for sipping! Had a friend taste test it and raved about it. Solid and you can't beat the price!

Excellent sipper, amazing in cocktails. Low price tag, but can easily compare to some rums twice the price. The onyx version is slightly better in my opinion, but this bottle looks better on the shelf.
