Barcelo Gran Anejo

Not so strong, pretty average, maybe a little of vanilla was added. Don't buy if you want a sipper, save your money for something better.

Can't say anything bad about the taste but I simply do not enjoy drinking it. The aftertaste is a bit like artificial sugar powder which doesn't help as well.

This was my first rum, and I loved it. Little did I know that after a few other bottles, this one tastes flat, boring and shallow. Ok for starters I guess

First I thought i was robbed and someone gave me whiskey instead of the rum I ordered. It’s first taste is like whiskey but with the aftertaste is kind of a rum. I did not like it.

This rum is a great value , not supper complex, but smooth as an entry level rum, great mixer

Nice, relatively cheap rum. Qualitative enough to drink neat.

This rum was not really my type of rum. It’s kinda lame in taste if you want my personal opinion. I mixed it out with Jaguara rum, just to finish the bottle, lol.
Main reason is probably cause it’s not sweet enough or give me the burning/warm feeling as I prefer.

Spicy taste with barrel character, hints of orange, brown sugar, dried fruit, nuts and cinnamon.

Not as great as the Imperial, it is nice and smooth but lacks its personality. However, given this one costs a little over half of the price of the Imperial, the Gran Anejo is awesome. It's sweeter, more smooth, more... regular.

On a recent trip to the Dominican, stayed in an All Inclusive Hotel. This seemed to be the standard bar rum at the resort and makes a great mixing rum. Tried one for sipping and I give it a so-so rating. Although the start is sweet, left a bitter aftertaste. Hints of coffee and vanilla with just enough "oak barrel" flavor and smoothness to let you know it is aged. For the price, a great rum. For the enjoyment of great taste, pretty average.
