Very interesting and unique but also a little pricey. It’s a robust rum with lots of character with some wood along with fruit and baking spices. Love the navy strength which will help this stand up in any rum cocktail but I think you can find equal and better rums for a little less than this one cost.

it s a solid rum but the jamaican part is so predominant that you can t recognize other rums (from guyana and barbados ...) it packs a lot of flavor for a 5 years old ...
but i can recognize only jamaican flavors ...
way better than Pussers (also navy rum) because this one is without sugar added
my rating is a 7,4 !

Black tot - slight misappropriation, this is not actually the 1970's original.
It's a blend of Jamaican 3-year pot still and 5 years or less single blended rum from Guyana and Barbados, what could possibly go wrong?

In the glass - a deep Amber, probably has bit of colouring
Nose - (it definitely improves with a bit of breathing) It's a "rummy" rum. Sounds a but stupid, but that's what the blend hones down on. Very subtle dried fruit, dominant nut and wood aromas.
Palate - is a little rough in keeping with its young age, but that is balanced by subtle sweetness (3/5), I suspect a tad of added sugar. It mellows to treacle and oak notes, surprisingly pleasant for a young navy rum.
Throat - gentle burn, that does not linger

In summary - surprisingly sippable for a rum this young. I wouldn't rush to buy a bottle but would enjoy finishing one.

Nose - Sweet, molasses, caramel. Tastes sweet, but good, bit of fruits, caramel, very peppery, spicy. Finish is good, sweetness fades very quickly, peppery notes remains very long.

Aroma: very sweety like caramel with little bit of spice, and I want to say little bit of nuts (that is why this rum reminded me of Blue Mauritius).

Taste: again very sweet, with spicey finish but in the middle I noticed some fruits. At this point of view, this rum reminded me of Plantation 20th anniversary. I have to say I really liked that warm spicey finish.

Overall: This was my first Black Tot experience, nice bottle, nice packaging with a nice price (around 40 €). It is very interesting one for me, because it reminded me Blue Mauritius (aroma) and Plantation 20th anniversary (taste). I rally want to try this rum in some drinks.

in alcoholic harshness and some metallic sensations on the palate. Overall not bad, just not good either.

Karamel z rozinkami, dřevem a ovocem v příjemně pitelné formě.

A very pleasant mix of Jamaica, Barbados and Guyana rum. Each of them is present, but none predominant. Nicely balanced sipping rum.
