Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.
This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

The box, the bottle, THE COLOR. All is soo beautiful. Taste is strong for real men, not for weak!
The age through the Solera system really comes through. Underrated and not expensive at all for what you get. Typical South American style with low sweetness, lots of tobacco and leather elements. Lots going on here and shines even in a cocktail. Is there a better way to make a Jungle Bird?
Pleasant rum. Not overly sweet with a slight bite on first sip. I can recommend it.
Great color, grassy nose like expected. Agreeable taste and drink.
Light and easily drinkable. Hints of sweetness and Spice, but not very deep pre complex
Unadulterated rum, which I could not say from its competitor Diplomatico rum which tends to have a ton of sugar and color added.
The tag on the bottle specifies exactly what it is they don't try to trick you with the solera method, it is what it is.
On the nose vanilla caramel and oak comes out which is similar to other Spanish method solera aged rums, lots of molasses lingers toward dry than sweet which I prefer, there is a lot of spice and a bit of ethanol as well but it is very well balanced.
A nice rum.
Bottling is nice, but the rough after taste ruins the experience.
The Rum Barrel Review
"On the nose there’s a lovely dark profile. Fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, plums. There are some tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit, followed by a slight grassy note. Nutmeg, old leather, tobacco and white pepper. On the palate it goes down so easy. Milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, mango, toffee and cashews. Canned pineapple, blackcurrant, coconut cream and coca cola. The tobacco note is back along with some cinnamon. Not crazy sweet, fairly well balanced and easy going. Cocoa butter and orange marmalade. Towards the end is where you get a bit more oak spices and some alcohol heat. The finish is short with cocoa nibs, some oak tannins and maple syrup."
Has a nice light sweet vanilla note.
"Spicy notes and a oaky lavour are very pleasant and not overpowering."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Round and smooth but in my opinion it lacks the lingering sweetness I prefer.
Had a couple of beers before which might have clouded my judgement
