Santa Teresa 1796

Venezuela | Aged | 40% ABV

Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.

This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

rum ottimo con rapporto qualità prezzo fantastico. Al palato si percepisce subito il sentore di legno e ciliegia e lascia un buon finale di cioccolato.

Nice, fairly smooth rum. A bit of a spicy flavor, but not too much.

Quite smooth for a solera of this kind, good choice overall.

This was given to me by a bourbon drinker. His wife bought it for him in error. This is very easy on the pallet. Perfect for sipping.

This was the first aged rum o tired and was a great entry point. Great taste, good price point.

Personally, it didn't match up with what I like in a rum. I enjoy smoother and sweeter rums, where as this one is more "spicy" and dry with a decent bit of alcohol burn. Having said that, I actually enjoyed this rum, which I think says a lot since I usually don't like these kinds. It had a lot of flavor and tasted to me like what you think of when you try to describe rum to someone. Not my favorite, but I know a lot of people would enjoy this one.

Sweet and well spiced with a nearly perfect balance of alcohol%

At first I though it's maybe too dry, a bit excessively whisky-like. But as I slowly drained my 1L bottle, I become more and more enamoured with it. Rich, balanced, with great scent, very fine sipper and an excellent addon to drinks, turning any daquiri or mojito into a 5 stars bevarage.

I'll definitely buy it again in the future.
