Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)

Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.

The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.

The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

My cousin showed me his bottle but would not share. I had to buy my own bottle to see what the hullabaloo was all about. It was worth the wait.

I have one bottle and once I felt the taste of pineapple. Very good rum for casual occasions. Only disappointment is there really much 23 percent year-old rum.

I found this in a duty free in Cancun. Knew nothing of it, but tried it. Loved it! Couldn't find it anywhere... now it is a little easier to find. I like how smooth it is and enjoy the finish... a lot! One of my go to rums for sure!

The best rum you can buy in Tesco (at least in Czech republic) :)
There are definitely better rums you can buy in special stores. But for generally available rum this one is a hit. Aroma and taste are full and complex.
I agree that this rum is quite a marketing trick, but I enjoy its taste and aroma. But it is probably little bit overpriced.

Je classe celui-ci au même rang que le diplomatico, un bon rum d'introduction. Moins sucré que le diplomarico. Nez de melasse et caramel. Longueur accecptable avec finale juste assez douce.

One of my favorites out there.such a great tasting to it that is not over powering and adds great to a coke. Would give it a 9 but I gave the Zacapa XO a 9.

The "orange pealy" and sweet smell Tell me I'm up for a treat. As expected the Ron Zacapa 23 Solera has a very pleasant and yet powerful aroma of orange, caramel and vanilla. It could be a bit rounder and also I would have lived some sort of twist. But I will definitely continue my trip down Ron Zacapa Road!

Good sipper but, fell short in the flavor department for me. For the price point and the reviews I expected more. Still not a bad rum and it goes down smooth and is very pleasant on the nose. Not what I expected.

Cheers
