Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

I found this to be an exceptional sipping rum. Do not mix with anything! Yes, it has a little sweetness to it, but in this case that's not a bad thing. I felt it had a smooth finish and a nice mouth feel.

I would recommend it to all, who are starting to think about rum drinking. It is extremely sweet and so usually ladies like it as well.

So I got this for like 2 years ago. I was looking forward to drink this so much, at that time I was still kinda new to aged rum but I had a few favorites already and this didn't match them really. Very sweet and fruity rum, nice vanilla notes, some caramel, not very complex. Very smooth.
Great rum but I expected more.
I enjoy the taste but a little sweet and no telling how long most of the rum is aged in the bottle.
I've enjoyed this rum after a friend turned me on to it. Very nice, sweet with hints of caramel and vanilla. A nice go to rum after a long day

V roce 1998 získal zlatou medaili na mezinárodním festivalu Karibské rumové týdny. Fantastického úspěchu dosáhl, když toto ocenění obdržel i v následujících 4 letech. V roce 2002 byl uveden do nově vytvořené síně slávy jako první a dodnes jediný rum na světě.
