Really enjoyed it, thought I would have it for a month or more but 6 days after there was a empty bottle.

Too easy to just sip, with a Davidof - just amazing

My friend got it as a reward. I hadn't had it before and didn't know the price. We planned to drink it as a cocktail, but I also tasted it neat and it was a big surprise. Since the plan was to drink a rum cocktail, that's what we did. Unfortunately, I didn't like it that much as a cocktail, I would prefer to use a cocktail Plantation or Morgan. Later I bought a bottle to drink neat. Good aromatic, slightly thick but not sweet.

God smag af bl.a vanilje og træ fra fadet. Bedre end 23´eren. Aftappet i 2021.

Toffee, vanilla, herbs and a little smokey. You still recognize the 23 Solera but there is a little more complexity to it. What surprised me was the very short aftertaste.

Mycket god, lite starkare smaker och inte så söt. Passar bra in i Zacapa familjen.

Compared to baseline Zacapa it has strong black pepper tones.

It's a good rum, but I would expect it to be much better than the 23 Solera, which this rum is not.

I had a great opportunity to purchase and taste it on a Zacapa-dedicated prof. rum degustation and introduction in Antigua, Guatemala - homeland of this famous brand. They did not offer a direct comparison to model XO (that I did know already from the past, just forgot the "small nuances") but to 23 Solera and Edicion Negra. And I liked "El Alma" the most from this trio (though it was a close race). This rum is: sweet, very smooth, fruity, vanilla and little bit herbal. For me the "darker" tones (bitterness, chocolate, coffee, smoke...) are almost nonpresent in this rum. I truly enjoyed the bottle (and shared with some fella travellers ontheroad who all praised it) but it started to feel a little boring near the end of the bottle.
