Bacardi 8 rum

Bacardi 8

United States | Aged | 40% ABV

Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.

This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

Bacardi 8 is somewhat cheap (33.19€ comparing to other, finer products) rum for the things it offers. It comes in a very nice bottle with a cork on the top that has a Bacardi logo. I find that pleasing to the eye. When it comes to the taste, I absolutely adore it. Light at the beginning, and somewhat harsh at the end while releasing all the flavours that last for some time in the throat. I noticed that Bacardi 8 has that whiskey after taste which is, in my opinion, always a plus to have. I would definitely recommend to open this bottle in a small circle of friends at a private gathering.

TLDR: A great rum from Bacardi. Very enjoyable for that price.

This was my second introduction into aged rum and still a favorite. Great with coke, AMAZING in cocktails, and a the only Bacardi rum I'll drink.

I am not a fan of Bacardi rum. I find it very plain and unimaginative. I was given this bottle and figured it worth a try. The amber colour is nice but it lacks the flavours of other ambers. While it is not bad for a Bacardi offering it is not one for the avid rum taster.

I rather like to mix this rum, although this one you can sip. Actually it's the first valuable Bacardi that you could sip without to puke.

This inexpensive aged rum is a good sipper and great with cola. My wife's favorite with Coke.
