Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still

Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.

The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Characterized by hints of vanilla on the nose and on the tongue. Good alcohol level, not too intrusive. At times reminiscent of the flavors of ice cream and zabaglione.
It should be drunk slowly to appreciate the evolutions in contact with oxygen

Very smooth, no harsh, vanilla.Maybe annoying with time? Anyway very pleasant and easy sipper.Cheap despite quality

Know thereโ€™s a lot of haters out there but Iโ€™m not one of them. Can be a little harsh at first but smooths out just fine with a pleasant aftertaste. Sipped it neat. Maybe once Iโ€™m further into my run journey Iโ€™ll discover better ones but that doesnโ€™t detract from the enjoyment

Aroma: the aroma itself is quite sweet, I noticed vanilla, caramel and lot of coconut (coconut is really dominant here).

Taste: pretty similar to aroma, I noticed vanilla, I think little bit of cocoa and again that coconut.

Overall: For me, this Plantation, or as I like to call them "Plantรกลพnรญk", was the first step into the world of rum. I think it is very good rum to start your personal RUM journey. I think this rum is must have, must try rum for, well anybody who want to step into this world. At a price around 45-50โ‚ฌ, in my country, is really good deal (good as a gift too).

Got this for a bargain and itโ€™s good value for money.

Good rum, sipping rum donโ€™t you dare add any mixers. Maybe a little to much coco flavour coming through.

Smooth for the rocks as rum should be, very bold embodied sweetness.

It's a good rum, but for me it is not a rum I would buy again. For the price there's better rums out there.

Tasted at Kill Devil Rum Club Plantation tasting at Laka Lono 5/28/20.
This was the first of four, what a lineup!
A delicious rum, so very smooth, just really really good.
This is likely a sweet rum - because I like it :)
