That's some good stuff
Calvados casks give it an interesting taste; dry yet a hint of apple. Distinct and very good. See below the info found on the producer's website:
Distillation : Column still & Gregg’s Farm Pot Still
Tropical Ageing : 4 years in bourbon casks
Continental Ageing : 1 year in Ferrand casks
Further Maturation : 1 year in Calvados cask 225L, which gives apple and ester notes
Nose : Milk chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla, candied fruits, fresh wood, lightly vegetal, peppery and nutty tones.
Palate : Sweet and intense, caramelized apple as in tarte tatin or apple pie, ginger, cocoa and light smoky notes.
Finale : Vanilla and spices, old pear brandy
Oooo very nice and as a calvados lover this is something of a match made in heaven. Nose is very interesting and doesn’t give away the spark of the palate: smooth, dry with a warming fruity finish. Lovely!
