Copper colored amber in the glass.
The nose is heavy and deep with a fruity touch. Small skewers of fruit coated with delicate caramel and a touch of cocoa dust enchanted, lie in the deep, dark forest on a bed of moss. Elegant wood notes, chocolate, rye bread and floral scents set subtle accents.
A bit harsh on the palate, which may be due to the 51.8% Vol. (Cask No.20). Tart and sweet at the same time, all flavors are in balance, the typical Panama chocolate is broken down and has no dominance as usual with Panamanian rum. Caramel, rye malt, wood, dark tobacco, leather and cocoa are the dark side, flowers, fruits and sweet spices bring some light to the depths to be discovered.
The finish is long and a bit sticky (sugar 12 gr./l). Fruits and flowers are still present for a while, but the caramel sticks to the tongue longer.
A great Panama rum that gets an interesting twist from the rye whiskey barrel. For beginners, explorers, connoisseurs and experts.

1st attempt: to sip straight from that single cask. Ethanol stinks, kills an ideas, expectations, everything. Too harsh, way too spicy (from whiskey).
2nd attempt - let it breathe for 10 minutes. Became more smoother, some aroma appeared, well known Ferrand cask.
3rd. Added whole table spoon of water. Now it is easy to sip and there's bunch of flavor. Base is classic Panamanian, with added apple, pearl notes, some feeling of added sugar. Infinity long aftertaste, just Ok.
A bit overpriced. Buy once.

Edit; just compiled nirvana equation: 50ml of plantation 52° plus 6.5ml of water (5ml table spoon + 1.5 of air humidity) makes this ti 46°. The drink gets opened, shines and allure_s you. Spectrum of aroma and taste gets wide: prune, apricot, probably some berries and definitely Deja Vue of demerara sugar detected.
Bumping up to score 8. Thanks Plantation!

Nice fruity aroma - need some time to breath.
First taste is more on dry side, but complex with more layers (higher ABV is helping here)
After few seconds it develop nicely on palate and you can identify apricot, pear, apple and other fruits + honey like sweeter tones combined with slight spice. Aftertaste is very long and pleasant again with honey and fruit tones.
Some not experienced people could have problem with 52% but as advice my colleague lower - add few drops of water and you will be happy.
For the price (55Eur in Czech Republic) it is perfect value and I ordered full bottle after testing sample :-)

After some investigation I found that there is 12g of sugar per 1 liter but i like it anyway :-)
