Plantation Barbados 5-Year rum is distilled from molasses and aged 5 years in bourbon casks before being transported to France for further 'finishing' in Cognac casks.
Plantation rum is owned by the French company Cognac Ferrand, which was founded in 1989 and produces wine, gin, and other spirits to sell in over 40 countries. The Plantation range includes 7 vintages from different Caribbean countries and 3 blends of multiple regions.

Another early rum as I expanded from Bacardi. The price point and flavor made a nice combination.

Somewhat pale in colour compared to the XO Anniversary, which is all I have to compare it with. Lighter in taste and of course in price. I drink most of my rum at home neat so I notice this does not have as much going on as the XO, but brushing that aside, I am perfectly happy to drink this rum, there are better, but it's tasty.
This is my favorite rum. Smooth and buttery and the price cant be beat. Far better than many rums costing much more.

Vanille, angenehm süß, weich, etwas Bitterschokolade und Kaffeebohnen, aromatisch, gut ausgewogen. Für den Preis super! Ungefähr halb so teuer wie der XO 20th Anniversary, für den ich 9/10 gegeben habe.

Similar to the slightly cheaper Grande Reserve this one has a gentle sweet taste but definitely a bit of spicy alcoholic taste when compared to the XO 20th Anniversary.
You will be able to taste vanilla and enjoy a very balanced rum that you can use for both mixing and sipping.
However, when I compare it to the Grande Reserve I am having a hard time justifying the slightly higher price point. Don't get me wrong: The rum is well worth it's money but it's cheaper sibling is so similar in taste that I probably won't buy it again.

Épicé, droit. Une finale sucrée/caramel (mais pas trop!) et une belle sensation de chaleur.

Not as smooth as I was hoping compared to other things I have had in the plantation label.

Beautiful color,great nose, great taste. Vanilla is much present.
