This rum is fairly smooth with minimal bite and it is quite dry. I have tried several dry rums in recent history but this one was probably the most surprising of the bunch. I figured this bottle would be sweeter but it was not. It's definitely decent rum and worth checking out.
Great plantation rum for Β£20 a bottle you canβt go wrong fantastic
My first dark rum, it has proven to be a great sub for Jamaican rums in cocktails. A great blend from Jamaica and Barbados!
This is a wonderful addition to the tiki bar and plays my roll of a perfect dark rum!
Note: I'm a sipper. My opinion is based on sipping characteristics.
At less than 12β¬ where I live, the value of this rum underdog can hardly be beaten, even if it is half as good. But the truth is, it puts to bed many competitors twice or three times as expensive and vocal about their qualities.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

My mainline Jamaican darks have been Appleton Estates or Myers, which have always been serviceable without too much burn. This one has a very particular character to it, sort of what you think rum was like 200 years ago. I'm not sure if it's the old-school recipe or the cognac barrel aging, but there's a definite "Funk" that's not for everyone in this. That funkiness makes it great for mixing since it shines through a lot of stuff, but it may not be the best on the rocks.
