Kraken Black Spiced

Taste is okay but too much. it is flavored so much that it tends to be a bad liquor. i can imagine people love it but not for me.

Kraken Black with its Strong taste and Inky-Black coloring lives up to the name. A great sipping Rum with its Smooth and Spiced Taste, and even better in a mixer, Kraken Black delivers. For something as strong, Kraken Black won't really break the bank with its price. If you're looking for something with Taste and not to get trashed on, Kraken is the choice.

Kraken lives up to its mythical name, with a powerful flavor, almost jet-black color, and a kick that makes you suspect that they seriously underrepresented its proof. It tastes great on its own, although this is my favorite rum to mix personally. Some may scoff at the price tag and the list of additives that rivals that of a Kraken's stomach, but I've seen this in rich peoples' homes (interior design jobs) and I think that says a lot about the value if you care to enjoy it. Bonus points for having my favorite bottle design out of all brands, this one is just so much fun (even if it is a little dirty).

Rum really is the pirate spirit. With no rules about what is rum, it's like the Wild West out there, and without this site, I wouldn't have had any idea how to pick my way through everything that's out there. Most likely, I would have bought too many things that are not for me.
I was given this as a gift, and reading here what to expect, I was sure it wasn't going to be for me, so I gave it to a friend who likes spiced rum. He cracked it open, and I got to try a dram.
It reminded me of Kahlua. Not as strong a coffee flavour but still familiar.
The spice was pretty subtle, blending in with a gentle burn, the sweetness not too strong on the pallet.
The finish was more coffee, and then the sweetness finally came to the fore, certainly too much for my taste.
Overall, it's perfectly palatable as a sipper, but it's also a different drink to an aged rum. It comes across like a liqueur rather than an alternative to whisky or brandy. Horses for courses, I say. It's cheap, but for me my £25 is better spent on Chairman's Reserve Original.
Not really sure how to rate it, because it's such a different drink. I can't give it a 5 though because I would rather drink those than this. Equally though, I can drink this, and I definitely couldn't say that about Don Papa!

It's plain, simple, sweet "spiced" rum, with a lot of vanila in it. Better addition to cola, then captain.

Be careful with this Rum, it's a sleeper. It's very smooth for the price and great doing shot's with. As you read my reviews I like all my drinks over ice.

I dont know what it is but it has a different flavour. I like because of that. Good in drinks! Its a classic but if you put too much in its bad.

Another cheap rum.. The second rum I ever tried after Morgan spice. Its better then Morgan spice and is better for sipping but no where near the high end stuff. Not for the regular rum drinkers and wouldn't go out my way to buy it again.

Nothing really worth mentioning about this overmarketed garbage
