Kraken Black Spiced

I really did enjoy this rum. Both with coke and over ice on its own. It has come down in price somewhat and would be a recommended rum for the every day rum drinker but better rums do exist.

Other than Goslings this is my second favorite mixer for a dark and stormy.

I don't find it quite as smooth as Goslings and it does not have the same strong molasses taste. More of a licorice taste in my opinion.

With that being said, it is smoother than you would expect for the price. It also is one of the few dark rums that comes in the 60oz bottle.

Would recommend as a mixer.

I was out of town and decided to take a chance and try the kraken. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor and was happy to see it was available at my local rum shop. It's smooth and flavorful. I'm currently exploring other choices but this is one is definitely one I'll get again

Wanted to pick up a spiced rum and bought a bottle of Kraken after reading posted reviews. Tried it straight, on the rocks, and with Mexican Coca Cola. Have to say I liked it all 3 ways. Had a nice Black Licorice taste.

Kraken is a fairly polite sipper for me. The sweet vanilla and caramel taste is pretty much what I look for when I want to sip some rum. I do like a bit more attitude from my rums usually though. There isn't a harsh bite on the finish at all. I found it to be a very polite and smooth rum for sipping. There isn't a lot of depth to the flavor but a dash of water helps to bring out what there is. No bold spices to speak of. It's pretty smooth honestly. Not much burn at all. There are rums I like better, but I do like Kraken quite a bit.

Mon premier rhum épicé. La bouteille est jolie. Le rhum est bien épicé mais j'attendais peut être un peu plus de caractère.
