Not bad better than Havana 7 for some maybe this is balance for me this is very midle taste with everything in small quantitys (spiciness, sweetnes and somewhat smoothness without big burn & maybe light and semi-dry).

More powerful then I remember but still every bit as good. Intense aroma and smooth taste

Pretty smooth rum compared to what I was used to from Havana Club, clear brown color, would buy again for the right price.

I am a huge fan of smooth rum, that is why I love Santiago Rum, but the very good Price of this Quality Rum make this bottle to my favorite gifts and Rum for dinners. Good Balance between sweet and spicy. Very nice.

At least in the first moment. Very good equilibrium, not too sweet, a bit of wood. But then, after a few seconds, there hits the alcool. A pity: in the palate, it only burns.

The name says it all - Maestros roneros have made their choice right. Drier, full taste. 95%

Having breen in cuba some years ago ans having been to the Havanna Club factory in havanna I always had a crush for the cuban rum. I like the Havanna Club 7 very much, especially for mixing, so I looked forward for the maestro prett much. Bur it was a complete dissapointment. For the price you have to pay you can get a lot of better rum!

Bought a double of this rum in Revelution de Cuba, Cardiff after Rum Festival. It came in at £10 which is reasonable for bar prices.

It's so good, I will have to get a bottle at some point it's around £50 so again reasonable and you cant really complain with a good sipping rum at that price! Bottled at 45% abv it packs a punch too.

Maple syrup, caramel and oak on the nose. Bags of character and complex too, theres spice on the palate, tobacco and leather too (it's Cuban after all!), very fruity, very nice! A superb sipper from Havana Club

Bottle - not a bad bottle but for the price something a little more striking would have been nice. The fake wood container is a piece of junk.

Nose - orange Curaçao, caramel, spices, oak. Bit of nail varnish but this disappears if you let it breath for a few minutes

In the mouth - Bottled at 45% and while that's not very high you do get some alcohol burn on the tip of the tongue right off the bat. Spices, oak, some caramel and citrus flowing into a dry and slightly bitter finish with leather, tobacco and more oak,

Finish - This one stays with you for a while but not really in a pleasant way, still I did find myself reaching for another sip, but that was more to get rid of the after-taste.

Certainly worth trying if you get a chance but I wouldn't hunt down a second bottle, much better rums to be had at a similar price point.

I got this at a very cheap price in Gibraltar. It has quite oily legs and a fairly subtle, almost delicate nose. It starts strong and perhaps a little bit on the harsh side - a tad bitter and leathery with elements of ethanol. However, that doesn't last as underneath that there is a fresh lemony citrus. It's certainly not a sweet rum, but it ends sweeter than it starts. Nevertheless, I'd have to call this a dry rum.
The aftertaste lingers - lemon, tobacco, oak and an alcoloholice burn. I wanted to refill the glass more or less upon ending so that's a good sign. After two glasses, I'm giving this an immediate 8, but I think I may up the score in time.
