Nicaragua | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
A sugar-free 12-year old, ultra premium rum that is sustainably produced (Carbon Neutral & Fair Trade certified). From a 5th generation family estate, it is naturally aged without artificial ingredients, distilled 100% with renewable energy and KOSHER certified. A full-bodied rum with a long and smooth finish that lingers in the palate. Best enjoyed in a Rum Old Fashioned or with a splash of premium sparkling water or ginger ale and an orange twist.

Happy to have this in my collection smooth and flavourful enjoy
Up to the point of trying the FDC 12, my rum purchases had mostly been sweeter rums. So upon first taste, this tasted a bit thin and dry. Many positive reviews encouraged me to be patient, so I did and that patience was rewarded. I've come to enjoy this one and actually find myself thinking of bourbon occasionally as I sip. After having taken a breather from my sweeter rums to get acclimated with the FDC 12, I decided to try the Plantation XO again recently. I couldn't believe how sweet the Plantation tasted! Still love the Plantation but the two rums couldn't be more different. Variety is the spice of life!
Very balanced and conservative rum. No rough edges. Very good choice for Newcomers!
adorable with a bite of chocolate... and even if you dont have chocolate :o)
Très doux et bien balancé.
Really smooth and well balanced.
Not a bad rum if you like whisky, but not for me ultimately. The good: cheap, some character up front, smooth finish. The bad: not much in the way of flavor, at least not for a 12. Defenders will say it's subtle, but I'd say too much so. Also, I found it is oddly similar in taste to Don Q Anejo, not sure why this is, but it is.
First tried this Rum recently and loved it. First few were with Coke but with the 12 and 18 year old, they are perfect straight up
I like rums I can drink neat or on the rocks.
This one is not one I would recommend for this occasion. It is not smooth, is too sweet, and the flavor is not complex.
I like to drink rum after a pipe. This is my first sip, and either I does not mix well with the tobacco I chose for tonight, or it is not that good for any occasion. As of right now, I deem it mildly interesting and not one I plan to return to.
I may change my mind sometime later.
It certainly lives up to its name, having a floral flavor.
A rum that you feel in your chest, in a good way. Yes, young FdC do taste like nothing, it's known, but they only get better with age.
I've been calling it Flora de Cana this entire time. Nice rum, though.
'smooth and full of fruit and nut flavors'
"Flor de Cana 12-Year rum review by The Ultimate Rum Guide"
There is very little astringency or “booze” noted in the nose.
"A sip reveals a very smooth yet spicy rum. There is very little burn it tingles on the lips and tongue for a long time. It is a long finish."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A sympathetic rum for its age with some very little or slightly sweetness (and bourbon-dry taste but not like apleton or mountgay, little less) not bad not great just for 1 time to taste it.
