I consider this one to be one of my most favourite rums. The intense tones of dark chocolate are why I always like to return to this rum.
And have I mentioned the price?

This doesnt quite have the finish and depth needed to be a pure sipping rum. It does however, work just fine as a aged rum for cocktails

From Guyana, caramel, brûléed sugar, tobacco and dried fruit.

If you like sweet rums run away from this... More affordable version of older El Dorado 15YO, with alcohol burn without some interesting tastes.

Will make a decent mixer, but as a sipper you'd wish you'd paid the extra few quid for El Dorado 12, which is the best of all the range, not including the 25 which I haven't tried.

I'd rather have 2 bottles of the 12 than 1 bottle of ED 21.

As you can tell, I'm going on about ED 12 because I should have just got another bottle instead of trying the 8.
After you drown it in coke you may as well be drinking Mount Gay Eclipse.

I am familiar with El Dorado from my travels but only just a week ago did it get distributiion in my state. I has been amazing turning people on to the brand. I have been holding out on finishing my 8yr because I did not want to have to order or leave the state for it but Christmas let me finish off my bottle and one will replace it tomorrow.

To sweet for my taste, strong vanilla taste. Positive is that you get an above average rum for a great price.
