Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

El Dorado 8 year is a completely defferent taste and aroma.
Both are sweet but this one is more creamy. 8 year is solid brown suger caramel taste.
I prefer 8 year.15 year is more tastefull.

Enjoyed the demerara profile - sublime with cola, a little one note on its own

It's hard to go back to this after having the fantastic 21-year but it's still tasty in its own right.

This rum has an instant spice to it with an immense amount of sweetness and heat. Followed with some herbaceous and oaky flavors. Would recommend this rum as an alternative to the top top shelf

When you talk about getting great value for whatever you may be drinking, El Dorado 12 Year is just that. This is the perfect segue for an inexperienced rum drinker into the world of sipping rums without breaking the bank. This rum has an incredible balance between fruity aromas like banana and baking spices, while still finishing incredibly smooth and dry on the palate. I had the pleasure of tasting this rum for the first time alongside El Dorado's master distiller, Mr. Shaun Caleb. His kindness and knowledge alone should be enough reason to try. A "must-drink" for anyone looking to learn more about rum!

Nothing special. Its a good maintenance drink. Won't blow your mind but won't let you down either.

It’s nice, but not a ton going on. Could be the low abv? Some grass and toffee on the nose. The sip gives a lot of light brown sugar with a some clove, nutmeg, and anise in the background. The finish eventually dries out with oak, but nothing big and bold. It’s nice, but not a ton going on.
