Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

The 12-year-old El Dorado belongs on every shelf. There are few better rums in this price segment. I only wish it had 43%, like the ED 15, instead of the 40% it has. The new version (after 2019) is also no longer as sweet as it was before.

Soft taste and not a lot of sweetness. A little boring, but very cheap.

This was my fist "real" rum. And it is well invested. When I think of pirates this is the stuff.

I love this in cocktails but on its own it burns too much in the throat and tastes a bit too ethanoly.

Ez már szép. Bár az El Dorado mint márka is nagyon tetszik, azért mellé még nem nyultak

This is a beautiful dessert rum, boasting a warm and smooth feeling on the tongue and a decadent blend of sweet orange, molasses and brown sugar, juxtaposed next to the spice of an oak barrel and the baking spice demeraras possess. I love relaxing after dinner with this Caribbean beauty.

Super smooth, well balanced, on the sweeter side but not too much. Well recommended for anyone who likes rum as this represents premium rum feeling for a very good price.
