Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

Rhum très original de part sa fabrication et qui est également très intéressant à découvrir. Beaucoup de rondeur mais avec suffisamment de puissance pour ne pas être écœurer. une bonne longueur en bouche et ce gout de café que j'affectionne.

Two drinks in one.
What starts out as a rum turns quickly into sherry. The experience is unusual but a tasty change from the norm. I just wish the rum flavour lasted longer, it's a delicious start which too quickly becomes sour sherry. Not as good as I was hoping, but treat it like its own genre and you should enjoy.

balance taste, very similar to diplomatico. great rum to sip, highly recommended :)
This was a gift and I am putting this bottle thru its paces.
Straight up its Good but I am not someone that settles in one place long. I drink everything. Woops.
Now as a rum and coke....dont ruin it with coke. Put on your big boy pants and just drink it. This is excellent flared off in a brandy snifter. Yums! In baking its excellent and morning coffee! Complex profile adds to everything. Even over vanilla ice cream. Be adventurous with this one. Enjoy responsabily.

Nu sare cu nimic in evidenta, este un clasic, fara finish prea lung. Are un aftertaste interesant.
Definite alcohol on the first smell. Let it breathe for a few and the sweetness takes over. A bit too sweet for my taste. Didn't get as much sherry notes as I expected, but I'm used to Scotch Sherry bombs.

Very sweet rum, it depends on your drink for the night how well it will be liked. Some will find this rum almost to sweet.
None the less, we enjoyed the bottle. bit different than what we normally drink.
