En perfekt rom med dejlig lang og god eftersmag. tilpas sød og god aroma. Brænder lidt i starten men efter 10 min er den blid, som et lam.

The Ambassador is in my book at the very top in the market today. Yes, its pricey but everything good usually has a steep price tag on it. This rum is not for your occasional cocktail, but rather for a special occasion. I tried it straight, with a bit of lime and on the rocks..all three were delightful.

It was a great surprise on the first sip... Was like, wow!... Very tasty an so characterized by the spicy finish through the diversity of his different tastes. Unbelievable experience

The nose is mild and hides the full and strong (excellent) taste. The aroma of port appears, sweet raisins and spicy dark wood. Dark chocolate with slightly sour herbs. I always associate this aroma with burnt hairs, sounds weird, but is rather good than bad. Very contrary aromas fitting together here. Strong and full, clear taste of port wine - maybe filled in wet casks? Viscous and creamy with cacao, brown sugar and dark fruits. A bit spicy, some pepper together with vanilla. Interesting finish, herbs, burnt wood and fine bitterness. You should try this one!

Přímé srovnání Single Vintage 2002 s Diplomáticem Ambassador Selection. Ambassador Selection hravě zvítězil, rozdíl v kvalitě byl markantní. Přesněji řečeno jsem pil rumy Botucal. To, že se rumy Diplomático prodávají na německém trhu pod názvem Botucal, je důsledek trochu absurdního soudního sporu s obchodním řetězcem ALDI, který vlastní ochrannou známku Diplomat, pod kterou prodává levné brandy za nějakých 6 € za lahev. Prostor pro záměnu s rumem, navíc při velkém rozdílu v cenách, moc nevidím a vzhledem k popularitě Diplomática ve světě by se mohl na slávě podobně pojmenovaného produktu přiživit spíš Diplomat samotný. Nicméně od března 2012 v důsledku soudních tahanic oficiální distributor pro Německo ustoupil a rumy jsou na tamním trhu pojmenovány Botucal.

Aroma: Hutná, bohatá vůně, pikantní a větrová. Kůže, cedrové dřevo, skořice. Aroma je v přímém srovnání se Single Vintage 2002 zajímavější, sladší a kořenitější. (90 b)
Chuť: Velejemný a přitom bohatý na jazyku. Neskutečně uhlazený, působí opravdu vyzrále. Sladkost je decentní. Příjemně dřevitý a hlavně kořenitý.V dochuti je znát dozrávání v sudech po sherry Pedro Ximénez. Táhlý, kořenitě medový dozvuk. (94 b)
Body: 92/100
Shrnutí: Výborný rum. Charakterem mi připomíná Rum Nation Panama 21 yo. Ovšem cena je zde mnohem vyšší, než u Nation Panamy.

The Diplomatico Ambassador is the gold standard for my taste buds. It is the first expensive bottle that I ever bought ($250) and I don't regret it. I consumed one bottle and went back for another. This rum is better than cognac and should be treated with respect. Please don't make me cry and mix it with coke and limes.

God rom som smager godt. Den er dog for dyr i forhold til kvalitet i forhold til min mening.

Velmi smoky, silne je citit dubove drevo, naznaky cokolady a ovocnostu, avsak kratke, rum je suchy a drsny, 47% alkoholu se zde projevuje. Snad v te lahvi bylo co melo.

Jeg havde forventet mig meget mere af denne rom, men omvendt, så er jeg heller ikke en stor fan af Reserva Exclusiva. Hverken smags- eller duftmæssigt kan jeg komme højere op end 7, hvilket er skuffende.
