There is something chemically or plastic like about this one that is a bit offputting. I haven't noticed it with other vintages though.

Smoky rum with strong alcohol aftertaste. It has classic crane feel, but it is not so sweet with strong smoke and alcohol aftertaste. Good for trying something new.
Smell is really rumlike

I think this is a good choice for hardcore rum drinkers who don't like any added sugar in their rum. This one has a strong wallnut aroma, it's a little harsh, smoky and the finish is really dry. For me, it was difficult to swallow.

Cinnamon, coffee, toffee, smoky sweetness on the nose. Smoky oak, with cinnamon and chocolate in massive at palate. Cinnamon and spices linger for quite long time. Alcohol and burn is moderate. Overall quite unique combination of smell and taste.

Suchý, možno trochu príkry, káva ale najmä orieškový likér. Neviem mu prísť na chuť. Ale niekomu určite učaruje.

Coffee aroma and strong alcohol taste. Very agressive taste of alcohol. No sweetness or fruity tones. Too strong for me.

Rum s chutí, dochutí a vůní kofily (tj. kávové čokolády) Ta zde opravdu dominuje.
Není sladký.

Mna osobne flaska nenadchla, o to vacsie prekvapenie sa v nej skryvalo. Prijemne prekvapenie. Prijemny mix cokolady, kavy a orechov.

I've been looking out for Dictador rums for a few years but they seem fairly rare in the UK. Finally got my hands on some of the 12yr and it didn't disappoint! Good rich, dark colour with an amazing nose that's well rounded and strong without any hint of the harshness you'll find in most <£40 rums. The flavour isn't as impressive and doesn't match the smooth nose but does have some strong dried fruit flavours and an unusual peppery aftertaste that make it quite unique and enjoyable.
