Candid orange and little bit cocoa aroma, quite plain body and no tail at all.

I never buy dark rums this young on purpose… not perfect for sipping but not terrible either! The cane is very prominent.

Tried it after I got the hang for agricoles, but was kinda dissapointed. Liked the Rhum JM XO a lot better.

J'aime particulièrement les ronds et ce rhum est encore un peu trop sec. Je resterai donc pour le moment dans les rhums de mélasse pour l'instant. Bonne dégustation!

I find this VSOP too sharp and burny, which beats most of the taste.

I had the feeling that I was drinking brandy.
This is more a kind of rum for people who also like to drink whiskey

Can someone tell me what justifies the high prices demanded for rhum agricole? Sure, I know there's a process with strict rules. But if that produces a result that gives me literally none of the enjoyment of rum made in other ways, I can't justify it. Is there anyone here who thinks this product compares to the Zacapa 23 Solera, the Plantation 20th Anniversary or the Kirk & Sweeney 12 Year? On price alone, it should. But it doesn't. Two positive points that bring the rating up to "5": First, Clement has chosen a handsome, displayable package. Second, if you're a cognac drinker, this would be a good substitute for any garden-variety VSOP cognac.

Not bad rum.
But something chemical in the taste.

This is not a rum for me, tastes like really cheap cognac. VSOP and 4 years is nothing.

I found it dry although the nose is quite nice and very flavoured with oak and floral notes. Once you drink it this is a very different story. It is very dry and harsh not sweet and reminds of a whiskey as a lot of people say. Now the finish: that's the part I liked most to be honest as I could feel it for a very long time and the taste became slightly sweeter and more balanced revealing more complexity. Just a shame that you have to go all though this to have a glimpse of hope. To me here is a lack of consistency in this rum from nose to finish. Not that bad but not great a all
