Thank you Richard Seale. Thank you Total Wine. Thank you for bringing great rums to the masses for an affordable price. This is my new number one and only $25! If you have a chance, get some. Just a bit deeper that the XO, which is also fantastic. I'm not about the sugar and additive controversy, but what a great way to show the industry how it's done without them. Another home run from Seale, Foursquare, Doorlys.

I am super impressed with the various doorly expressions, Mr Seale, and his stance on sugaring. The 12 year old has a nice bit, but is still lovely with lots of black pepper and green vegetal mixed with molasses. It's not a heavy rum though. It drinks very light. And all for the low $20s.... Wow. This is a shelf staple now.

It’s unsweetened, it’s 43%. Must be dry strong, harsh,... And it’s definitely not at all. It has a wood smell and a wood aftertaste. The first taste is little pepper, little sour little sweet. My conclusion; it’s a really balanced rum with nothing very special. A simple but good rum. If u find it to peppery I would recommend u the trigo reserva anejo. It has almost the same taste. Enjoy!

My go to gift for non-rum drinkers who think only of the big brands. This is an amazing taste to value rum.

Fruity aroma, sweetness without added sugar and strong dark chocolate aftertaste that lasts forever. All of this at such a bargain price.

I enjoy this rum for sipping occasionally. It has a great front end taste but just seems to be missing a little on the backend. It really falls off.

Parrot on the bottle attracted my attention. I side the bottle is something even better. Good fruity taste and great finish.

In the glass Doorly's 12yr old is a wonderful red copper, the nose is a subtle but complex mix of vanilla, fruits and oak.
First taste brings sweetness, brown sugar, but only just, as in, Ok, it's not dry.
Then oak, vanilla, fruit, and spice, not loaded with sugar and other additives but a natural sweetness. Defiantly β€œsmooth” no strong alcohol notes.
Foursquare has used a blend of pot and column still rums, aged in bourbon white oak casks, then finished in port and Madeira casks.

Picked this up as I really enjoyed the 8yr and it really met the expectations. Smooth and light. An excellent choice for the price. That really is a top notch sipper

Bought this since it was the only aged rum they had left. Thought I was overpaying but I was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunate that it's all gone now.
