The 39th edition of Nobilis comes from Guyana from the Diamond Distillery and bears the mark SWR. The rum was produced in 1997 in column style and was allowed to mature tropically for 2 years. It spent the remaining 24 years in the continental climate and was then bottled as a single cask with 224 bottles without additives or filtration with a cask strength of 51.3% alcohol.
The rum has a very balanced nose. I get nice roasted flavors with caramelized nut and some glue. Served with dried fruits, coffee and vanilla. On the palate, the rum has a nice gradient. First roasted with coffee, vanilla and some wood. Then comes more and more dark chocolate with slight bitter substances. The finish becomes darker and darker towards Mocha. In addition, more barrel influence with wet wood and a slight herbal note.
A nice dark SWR, which perhaps lacks a bit of heaviness. I really like it and it's easy to drink despite the dark notes and complexity.

Der Rum hat eine sehr ausgewogene Nase. Ich bekomme schöne Röstaromen mit karamellisierter Nuss und etwas Klebstoff. Dazu getrocknete Früchte und Kaffee und Vanille. Am Gaumen hat der Rum einen schönen Verlauf. Erst röstig mit Kaffee,Vanille und etwas Holz. Dann kommt immer mehr dunkle Schokolade mit leichten Bitterstoffen. Der Abgang wird immer dunkler Richtung Mokka. Dazu mehr Fasseinfluss mit nassem Holz und einer leichten Kräuter Note.
Ein schöner dunkler SWR dem vielleicht etwas die Schwere fehlt. Gefällt mir sehr gut und ist trotz der dunklen Noten und der Komplexität leicht zu trinken.
