Pot still, high proof Jamaica goodness this. It's pretty fiery, tastes like pot still to me, but at a modest funk level. It tastes like Clarendon to me, not dissimilar to the last Plantation Clarendon release without the cognac cask finish.
The smell is glue and varnish and wood. The taste is initially, smoothness, wood, varnish and a lovely balanced funk. Then, it morphs into a bit of fire and burn, with that banana funk, although relatively restrained.
The finish is a nice mix of astringent, banana and wood, at a very nice proof.
It's not subtle, but very tasty, and easily tops the drams of high end whiskies that I've been sampling before this.
If you like pot still, and/or Jamaican, it's got to worth a punt, depending what the price piint is! I just got a dram in a very nice pub. Who knows what a bottle costs! I will be looking at Dram Mor again though after this

Nose is of the ocean with vanilla, taste is classic foursquare of sweet bourbon flavor with overproof burn on finish that is the norm for this brand. Its what the 2012 foursquare should be, sweeter and less woody and less burn. Really impressive 3rd best foursquare behind indelible and zinfandel

Usualy I buy 2 bottles of Foursquare ECS series. One for tasting and second for my collection.
But only 5 bottles of Covenant for all my country and I was happy to get one.
So in this case I got a single shot in my liqure store where I bought this bottle.
According this small volume I can only say: too much whisky /wood/ . I didn’t feel any sugar. I will keep searching for another bottle. I changed my mind many times after finishing of a whole bottle.

At Foursquare today was able to sample a few hard to find rums. This one was special the oldest ECS to date at 18. Years. Quite smooth at over 60% with the great classic Foursquare bourbon, bread and island spice flavors. Buy. It if you can find it. I hear 2011 has been released but. Also hard to find in US.

Like all Foursquare stuff, this was great. Decent nose, smooth going down, nice finish.
