A. H. Riise Non Plus Ultra Very Rare

One of the coolest looking flasks in my collection. And a very nice rum inside as well. Like sipping on thick sweet caramel and orangemarmalade, with a springle of peppery spicyness to round it off. At this price though, im wanting for a bit more complexity and a lot less sugar.

Riise competes with Don Papa and I say that even though I love sweet rum.
I just smell chewing gum like Hubba bubba. I cannot separate other aromas.
I can't explain where this aroma comes from. No raw material in rum production can release such an aroma.
When pouring it out, it is already really viscous like a sugar syrup.
It tastes a little bit better, sugar-sweet, sticky, I can still imagine vanilla, chewing gum and some spice after all.

Well, in this price segment that is too much, even for me.
I'm sorry, this is not a good rum, but a good liqueur.

Not my cup of coffee. For sweet candy lovers. Smells nice, nice dark color.

Tento rum som dostal do daru. Flaska excelentna, velmi som bol zvedavy na jej obsah. Rum velmi sladky, citrusovy az likerovo chutiaci. Extra velke mnozstvo pridaneho cukru, 82g/L! Toto veru nie je rum, ktory by ma oslovil. Otazne je, ci je to vobec rum alebo liker? ;)

Zum Glück habe ich hier nur das Geld für ein Sample verbrannt!

Wir sind hier bei einem Zuckergehalt der ähnlich hoch wie der von Cola liegt.
Über 80g pro Liter!!

Sollte solch eine Panscherei bei einem Singlemalt aufgedeckt werden, wäre die Destille schnell im Konkursverfahren. Aber beim Rum kann man`s ja straffrei machen...

Much too sweet, like pralines. Really long aftertaste. Nice decorative flask, but inside is not a rum. It is rather expensive rum liquor.

Det er en modsætningsfuld rom, der er svær at blive klog på. Det er en kraftfuld men også en meget sød rom. Nogle dage er den meget vammel, og andre dage kan man nyde sødmen, krydderierne og den gode kompleksitet. Men en favorit bliver det aldrig.

Fantastic for the nose and great colour. But..this is so sweet and leaves a very strange taste in the mouth. Is more like a rumliquer than a rum.
