The El Ron del Artesano Amontillada is a rum from Panama, which was allowed to be stored for about 23 years in an Ex Bourbon barrel and then got a finish in an Amontillada Sherry barrel. The Single Cask Rum was then bottled in 83 bottles with 54.1% alcohol cask strength. The remaining barrel was bottled in drinking strength. All done by hand and of course without sugar, filtration or other additives.
The rum is incredibly full and intense in the nose. Beautiful nutty aromas, tobacco and toasted oak pair with thick palatable caramelized fruit. Absolutely fantastic. On the palate you can taste the age. The rum has a full body. Initially, it is heavy and sweet. Caramel, vanilla and thick fruit. Then comes the old barrel with intensive wood notes. Tannins bring spice. Bitter substances with leather and tobacco. The rum gets warmer and spreads throughout the mouth. The finish is spicy with many barrel notes. The rum persists for a long time and the aromas feel old and heavy.
An absolute premium rum, which is not as balanced as the 21st year old Artesano, but a bit more complex. You can taste the age. The nose is excellent. The rum perfectly balanced. Top.
Der El Ron del Artesano Amontillada ist ein Rum aus Panama, welcher ca. 23 Jahre im Ex Bourbon Fass lagern durfte und dann ein Finish in einem Amontillada Sherry Fass bekommen hat. Der Single Cask Rum wurde anschließend in 83 Flaschen mit 54,1% Alkohol Fassstärke abgefüllt. Das restliche Fass dann in Trinkstärke. Alles in Handarbeit und natürlich ohne Zucker, Filtration oder anderen Zusatzstoffen.
Der Rum ist in der Nase sofort unheimlich voll und intensiv. Schöne nussige Aromen, Tabak und getoastete Eiche paaren sich mit viel dicker süffiger karamelisierter Frucht. Wahnsinn. Absolut fantastisch. Am Gaumen schmeckt man das Alter. Der Rum hat einen vollen Körper. Anfangs ist er schwer und süß. Karamel, Vanille, Frucht. Dann kommt die Lagerung mit intensiven Holznoten dazu. Tannine bringen Würze. Bitterstoffe mit Leder und Tabak. Der Rum wird wärmer und breitet sich im gesamten Mund aus. Der Abgang ist das würzig mit vielen Fassnoten. Der Rum bleibt lange bestehen und die Aromen wirken Alt und Schwer.
Ein absoluter Premium Rum, welcher nicht so ausgewogen wie der 21. Jährige Artesano ist, dafür aber etwas komplexer. Man schmeckt das Alter. Die Nase ist hervorragend. Der Rum perfekt ausbalanciert. Klasse.
