Blend nicely summarized above. Very complex - I don't have the palate or vocabulary to describe as others have, but this is delicious.

Don't have to say much about the blend. Everything is on the bottle.

The nose is dark with sweetness in the background. Molasses is pronounced and the dried fruits (raisins, blueberries). There are aromas of oak, earthy notes, burnt sugar, blueberries, grapes, chocolate, some leather and liquorice. Minimal orange (Barbados). At the beginning it was still musty, after 30 minutes no more (occurs with Demerara). I like especially the blueberries. I can't say how they made it, it's very unique.

The taste starts dark with sweetness, the spice develops more and more. I get the molasses and sweetness of burnt sugar first. Then dried fruits, raisins and blueberries, then chocolate, liquorice and tannins with oak. Ohhh, what a beautiful rum. It's like you are eating a blueberry muffin.
In the finish Hampden shimmers through a bit, together with Barbados (orange, wood, leather).
The finish is spicy, here you can also taste some Barbados rum.
Aftertaste: dark and somewhat sweet, dried fruits, some leather, mint, blueberries, some ester aromas (Hampden)

Conclusion: Hampden is practically non-existent in the nose. Barbados and Hampden play a subordinate role in taste. I like that very much because I like dark navy blends. However, I can imagine that it is not enough for others. Tiger Shark is different, it is less dark and has very good balance. Silver Seal Navy is more fruity and more Jamaica / Barbados-heavy. For me these are more modern navy blends.
I think the Black Tot is well done and I was hoping it would turn out the same way. Would rate this one as my top navy blend with 95 points.

Nose: Molasses, dried fruits (raisins, plums). oak, earthy, burnt sugar, blueberries, grapes, chocolate, some leather and liquorice, orange
Taste initial: molasses, burnt sugar, black tea, dried fruits, raisins and blueberries
Middle: chocolate, liquorice and tannins with oak.
Finish: spice, fruits, orange, wood, leather
Aftertaste: dark and somewhat sweet, dried fruits, some leather, mint, blueberries, some ester aromas (Hampden)

Sweetness: 2/5
Fruit: 2.5/5
Spice: 3.5/5
Mildness: 3/5
Complexity: 4/4
Value (120€): 5/5

I finally opened the thing. What good is stashing away valuables anyway, if you cannot enjoy them at all? On the rare occasion of my cousin having fully recuperated, from a traffic accident. The smell was heavy and aromatic, lingering for a very long time, post the pouring a serving in our glasses. Other people in the same room could smell it too, even at a short distance. A charming, captivating fell, overpowering your senses momentarily. First sip... We both got suprised! Despite the 54,5%, it was silky smooth, with a velvety feel, being well received in the mouth. Strong wood, invading smoke and colourful, playful, fruity notes, were all there, married happily in the small sip! Paired with high quality professionally prepared espresso on the rocks, from premium Nicaragua batch variety, it was the most blissful sensation ever, throughout my rum voyage, up to now. The oily feel of the "dirty" Caroni, was actually noticeable, even though it was my (our) first time, drinking anything that contains some! This is a trully premium product and at a funny price, too; got it few months ago, for something less than 134 bucks! It was fully worth it and even more! The aftertaste wouldn't go out, not even its intensity; 2 hours later and i could still feel the rich taste in my mouth and a pleasant, soft burn in my throat. This has to be one of the top shelf rums, for every rum-person out there! Will try to find more bottles of the stuff, asap!

When I tasted my first sip of this rum, i thought I was in rum-heaven. It is full of different aromas, and I simply can't tell them all. When I read that this was a limited edition, I just had to buy 2 more bottles.

A classic taste of the British Navy Rum.
Not as harsh as others that I have tasted.
But would be a good addition to my collection.

My score on this breakfast tasting is 9.5 all day long .Everything I'd hoped for perfect for my tastes I'm so pleased !
I've bought 5 bottles of Rum around this Price range this year and this is the best out of all of them by far . Balance is perfect they have done a great job ! Thank you OLIVER CHILTON

I took a calculated Risk based on some of the reviews on this site and bought 2 bottles Price ranges £99 -£150 for the same bottle I paid £99 each in Scotland .

This is a Navy rum a class above all I’ve tried
A punch in the mouth at the front end and lovely dark rum middle with a smooth and lingering finish
If all Navy runs could be like this
lovely liquid in the bottle 👍👍👍👍

What a powerhouse.
Dark golden colour, Dark chocolate, baking spice, leather, wood oils, treacle all in the nose. On the palate there's pepper, chocolate, a slight burnt treacle flavour as well, vanilla and cigar tobacco also feature pleasantly.
If you can find a bottle, get it, it's a delight.

While I'm a fan of the navy style rums and Black Tot in general, I was not expecting to love this one as much as I did.

On the nose it's very complex with both floral/fruity notes but also spicy with tobacco. The first sip is spicy with tobacco but then gives away to more fruity notes of chocolate and some fruit.

Each time I taste this rum it adds even more complexity so I would recommend getting a bottle if you can find one.
