Great rum from Foursquare Destillery.
Fruity, vanilla, oak and natural sweetness... Yum !

Wow. Another stunner from Foursquare.
Having just had the 48% Doorly's 14yo, I thought that this Sagacity at 48% was a natural one to try. Compared to the 14yo, this has an elegance and subtlety instead of outright oak and fruit power. I prefer the Doorly's 14yo, but that sets the bar high and is of course subjective. But that's not to say that this is anything but a wonderful rum. It has the most wonderful finish, soft, long oak.
What a pair of 48% rums....I look forward to see whether/how the bottles open up and develop.
The Doorly's for power - the Foursquare for elegance.
Tremendously complex. Super smooth. A beautiful rum! Tons of caramel and vanilla to open. Nice punch but beautifully balanced. Very complex with dark fruit and mint. Fantastic white pepper finish which is very long. Incredible finish. I have heard a lot of hype over Foursquare. This rum finally lives up to it.

Beautifully blended. Strong molasses on the pallet. A very smooth finish.

Distinctive 4 square flavor, easy to drink, great in a simple cocktail like a corn n oil. Will definitely get this again when the bottle is empty.
Great buy for the price. As much as the alcohol level is high it drinks very well. Nose is very elegant and the lenght is stunning, in line with much pricier Rhum. I like how it's very direct and not too sweet.
Finally got around to making some notes after enjoying a couple of tastes. This is a really nice rum. I got immediate floral notes on the nose, followed by molasses, caramel, brown sugar, and a bit of citrus after it sat a while longer.
On the palate it is initially sweet, like juicy cherries or plums. That was followed by cloves, spices, dried fruits, and some tropical notes. I got busy and came back to it about ten minutes later and was immediately struck by a taste reminiscent of cotton candy.
The finish was nice with a bit of heat, tobacco, and a slight hint of oak.
A very nice sipper!

Een van de allerbeste releases van Foursquare. Net als de Doorly’s 14 gelagerd op Madeiravaten. Dat proef je. Helaas is de gehele ECS van Foursquare slecht verkrijgbaar.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Yet another excellent rum from Foursquare and probably my favourite so far (Dominus, Hereditas, Zinfandel cask blend and Empery are the others I've tried). £47 a bottle and the best rum under 50 quid in the world I reckon. Will be getting more in before people push the price up!
