Bacardi Superior

United States | Light | 40% ABV

Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

It's not a very good rum - no question about that. But for many of us it was the first rum we tasted, in a mixed drink somewhere. i know it's what got me interested - so it can't be all bad...

Impossible à boire sec et son odeur n'est pas top ! Ce n'est pas une boisson pour un amateur de rhum, mais avec du coca, ça peut convenir aux gens qui veulent se soûler rapidement pour un prix raisonnable... :)
Unable to drink straight and the smell isn't good ! This is not a drink for a rum lover, but mixed with coke, it may be suitable for people who want to get drunk for a resonable price... :)

Pour les cocktail éventuellement.
Mais à ce prix là, il y a (beaucoup) mieux.

This is supposed to be a classic, but unfortunately the more you drink quality rum, the worse this rum tastes. Not much flavor and not much bite.

The name is a misnomer, it's not "superior", mix this when you're making drinks and aren't looking for a quality rum component. Flavors?, kind of artificial, a bit alcohol heat, no finish, blah. Like I said, use when mixing a bathtub quantity of whatever...

Had tonight in Pomegranite Mojito at Chart House. Mixed well with no unpleasant effects.

We have all tasted it, drinkable with a Coke, but can find much better white rums.

A consistent, white rum. Perfect for a classic mojito or cuba libre.

A must mix, don't try to sip it but a good mixer! Good basic rum for rum and coke, nothing fancy here. Just try it, you may like it

Complicated to rate... tastes like "some kind of alcohol" but not especially rum. To be used in mixed drinks when nothing else is available.
