Now this is some good stuff
2019 - 50%
The nose is dirty. I get gum, wild leather with some sweeter notes like caramel. It's a typical tasty TDL for me. If you don't like this diry aromas stay away from it. There are also some medical notes, vanilla, dry fruits, wood and citrus.
Not very complex but very tasty. I like especially the wild leather.
The taste starts also with gum, wild leather, caramel and medical notes. A good and typical Trinidad rum. Then some vanilla, dry fruits and wood with citrus.
In the middle I get mint, wild leather, gum, citrus and medical notes. Thats great, a good rum with a lot of potential if it would be aged further. It would be as good as the 19y Rum Artesanal Trinidad.
Then finish starts as always with spice, then medical notes, vanilla, dirty notes like gum and leather.
The aftertaste is tasty. I notice mint, some medical notes, wild leather.
Great Trinidad rum overall, I would rate it with 88 points. With further aging we could talk about 92+.

I absolutely love bottle and detailed label - very cool presentation. Very strong rum, with tobacco and wood notes, very uncomon rum taste.
Rum tasting in Brussels with my good old friend continued onwards with La Maison du Rhum Trinidad and Tobago. Nice and unique bottle and label design. Light golden color. Very fruity from the beginning all the way to the end. Super short burn at the end.

I’m not a big fan of independent bottlers, but tested this one during this years rum cruise at the Baltic Sea with Birka cruises. I liked it and my wife thought it should look nice in our rum bar so I had to buy a bottle.
My bottle is from batch 2 (4225 bottles) distilled 2008 and after 10 years in ex bourbon casks it was bottled 2018. The strength is 44% which is good cause it balance the sweetness of the rum from Angostura, I suppose it’s coming from there (not sure).
In nose and mouth as well as during the afterburn, which is middle long, you mostly recognise fruits, vanilla and I think some biscuits.
Now I’ve opened my bought bottle and there’s nothing to change. What I can enhance is the fruitiness and especially the taste of citrus which make it very much alike the Angostura 1787.
