Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
This rum isn’t anything to write home about, but don’t count it out. Great flavor, little sweetness, smooth finish. Good while drinking neat or as a mixed drink.
This is one of the plantation rums which is poor but not obviously amazing ... Decent flavour
Спиртуозность умеренная. Вкус сладенький, слабый - ничего интересного. Послевкусия практически нет.
Однако, напиток добротный - неприятия не вызывает, просто, "никакой". Как, и зачем его употреблять, не понимаю...
This is A perfect introduction to the world of rum. This is an easy to like rum and it wants you to start to explore.
Pri tomto rume som mal vacsie ocakavania a ostal som trosku sklamany. Prekaza mi i prerazajuca chut alkoholu. Hodi sa mi viac do drinkov ako na samotne pitie.
The smell is more alcoholic, but it is still very good rum. The taste is intense, warm and very specific, perhaps due to aging in bourbon barrels and then in Pierre Ferrand cognac barrels. I do not even know what I would compare it to. In this price range with the Plantation Barbados Grande Reserve, you certainly will not make a mistake, although I do not seem to be among my favorites.
Vcelku kvalitný produkt. Neviem sa zbaviť pocitu anízu v ňom.
The smell reminds me of dictador 12, flat taste, bit too alcoholic, good to try bot not to buy a whole bottle
Very sweet artificial head. First touch is sweet, vanilla, some coco? Goes down easily and not much burn. But does not offer very much excitement. It’s sippable...but it definitely does not work with coke - too sweet. Havent tried it in coctails yet...and probably won’t, because it’s a dull bottle overall. A regular white agricole offers much more excitement and power. Torn between 5 and 6.
Taste of rum and whiskey, had to try this series of rum...
Actually very good after few sips, just go for some more. Nice, though.
Notes of tropical fruits, vanilla and coconut.
Sweet taste, with notes of butterscotch, banana and vanilla!
I found it not that good for sipping, but it works great in drinks!
My first sip was actually not bad. The taste was a bit flowery and sweet. I might enjoy this, I thought. My second sip was in the same vein, although I felt I had tasted something similar before. My third sip, however, made me realize where I had tasted this before. Or actually smelled it: In the IKEA flower and scented candles section. And I hate that section. After a few more tries I came to the conclusion: This rum is fine for 1-2 sips or shots, but devastatingly flowery for any longer sessions. It might be good for mixing, but I don't generally mix drinks as I like them neat with a chaser, so I won't know. Sorry, Barbados. I won't be seeing you again...
I’m not a fan of Plantation, think it’s a little bit dull. But this one is definitely pricewhorty with it’s quite alright taste and flavour.
Another rum that I find myself keeping stock of in my bar because of it's beautiful but sweet rum notes an it's.ability to blend well with pretty much any juice.
Nice rum. Good for the price. Very smooth and easy to enjoy. I like this one.
Very well balanced rum. On the nose, molasses or burnt sugar, with coconut, vanilla and warming spices in the background. The palate follows with a little sweetness and wood with a nice, smooth finish. Great sipper and bar stocker for cocktails. For around $20 it’s hard to find a better value.
I bought a 1l bottle of this rum and when i first taste it was like... strange i kinda expected more. But now (1 year later) bottle is half empty and dont ask me how is this possible but it tastes great.
This is a quality product. Very smooth, sweet, but not overly so, wonderful flavours, and for me it has a short lived spicy aftertaste like pepper or chilli, as opposed to alcohol burn. Just a joy to sip on this neat. I am guessing the smoothness comes from the 2nd aging in Cognac barrels in France. A wonderful Rum at a reasonable price.
Super smooth, no bite, lots of honey notes. Sweet, but not too sweet. Wish it was a little more complex. Would be great in fruity drinks.
Very light, oak present but not assertive, buttery(?) on the nose. A “silent spirit”. Infamous Plantation syrup / sweetness lingers in at the end.
Light rums often tend to be biting but this one seems less offensive. The slight honeyed sweetness definitely cuts some of that.
Just started my rum tasting more actively - spend some to compare. My taste equipment is far from delicate in sighting little nuances. I do my my tasting best in real time comparison to another rum.
This is my baseline. Small plastic bottle grabbed from ferry shop. Light color, nice aroma, and smooth in mouth. Aftertaste is mostly vanilla. While sipping in comparison with Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 this is simpler and easier, good honest stuff. No regret for purchase. No need to seek any complex flavors.
Double aged, initially Bourbon casks in Barbados then Ferrand Cognac barrels in France.
Dried banana on the nose with a spiritey component.
On the tongue quite sweet 4-5/5, vanilla and banana dominating with an Esther aftertaste.
Short sharp burn, nothing lasting.
Reasonable value for money but to cloying for me. And not like a Mount Gay XO or one of the superb Foursquares.
Nice Ron, not so smooth, but taste is positive and with nice feel of cask.
