Chairman’s Reserve Spiced

Overall a great spiced flavour, maybe a little bit to much cloves flavour for me.

The aroma and taste rivals my top spiced rum, which is Brinley Gold Shipwreck Spiced. There is nothing offensive about this rum. It is a complex mix of flavors, but I get orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, and quite a few others that I cannot identify. It is heavily sugared as evidenced by lots of legs in the snifter. I am so glad that I took a chance on this one.

At 80 proof and having 41 gpl of added sugar, this heavily spiced rum is best used to improve drinks made with the most boring of dry rums. And it is only $25.

Update November 13, 2019: A bit of advice! If you do like I did and drink more than 8 ounces of this rum in one night, you may also lose a couple of pounds in one day. However, you will be house bound for the next day, if you get my drift.

Update May 27, 2021: Thanks to my reviewing their entry level Bounty Spiced Rum today, I found out that this one also has "bois bande" bark. This is supposedly an aphrodisiac for men.

Recommended by my local store, I’d never seen it before. Aggressively spiced, on the clove/cinnamon/nutmeg side. Still maintains some sweetness. Really nice straight on one big rock

I brought back this rum from Ste-Lucia. Not crazy about spiced rum but I particularly liked this one. Not too sweet or complex, I found caramel, vanilla and cinnamon to be very present there.

Jako první mě do nosu kopnul pomeranč, pomerančová kura, následuje hřebíček a skořice, dřevo, v chuti podobně + širší škála ovoce a karamel. Je to poměrně hodně aromatické, není to sladké, na míchaní bude asi super.

Not as intense as my personal favorite "The Lash" but probably one most people will like better. Enough cloves and other baking spices to make it interesting, sweet enough to make it quite palatable on its own. I could be nuts but I get some cherry taste, though pleasant and not cough-syrupy like many others.

Just about on par with kraken spiced, but not quite as good as the kraken spiced coffee

Its great if you like Cinnamon! For me its not a rebuy..

Tasted at Laka Lono on 8-27-23. Pours a dark amber to light brown color. Aroma is citrusy with lime orange and cardamom. Huge sweet orange flavor. Cinnamon out the wazoo. Not as sickeningly sweet as a shrub, but nicely balanced. I like.

Was a bit let down by this one. Very prominent orange and lemon flavour combined with clove. Quite sweet. Tastes more like a spice liquer than a rum.
