Traditional jamaican navy strength rum 57%abv.
Pure plummer and wedderburn marque pot still distillate, so the funk is there but not too much.
Rumor has it that this is Hampden estate rum.
Nose: strong dunder and esters, molasses, toasted butter, brine
Taste: oh some more of that lovely pungent molasses dunder taste, strong toasted butter and brine also caramel, i think im in love with this rum.
Finish: Dry and some oak in the end. Has some kick( thanks to 57 abv) but no ethanol taste.
The dry taste of dunder, butter and bit of oak lingers for a long time, i like that.
Overall: Delicious honest traditional jamaican rum that has very strong punching esters kicking through but with beautiful molasses butter caramel taste too.
Also bottled at higher abv 57% which is always a good thing and greatly appreciated.
Mixability is also great so i have to give extra points for that.
Makes beautiful balanced navy grogs and also works magic in most of the tiki cocktails.
No added sugar like most jamaicans, probably has caramel colour for color consistency but i dont mind about that.

I love mixing with this, as the flavor of this rum can stand up to limes, sugar, and almost anything else you throw in.

The perfect rum for classic Jamaican styled cocktails. Heavy aromas of tropical fruits, smoked wood and tobacco.
A big mouth feel of leather, oak, sweet peppers & spice. A very long finish with hints of vanilla, molasses and rubber. Opens with a little water to reveal tropical fruits and orange notes.

Navy strength rum it IS. This mammoth of a rum has so much esters there isn't a cocktail out there that will tame it. The flavor will always shine through and this flavor is classic Jamaican pot still style. Although aggressive, it is a must try.

This is a very funky rum. Great in cocktai or great with a ice cube.

A good stout navy strength rum, great for mixing. Love it in rum punch.

light amber minimal legs. nose of leather, tropical fruits & leather, not nearly as many alcohol vapors as you would expect for a 57% rum. The alcohol hits the tongue like a mack truck but dissipates quickly leaving a nice sweetness behind. notes of pineapple and clove. This rum makes a killer cocktail but does ok on its own in a glass with a couple ice cubes.

The phrase "easily consumable in a bind" represents Smith and Cross rum perfectly. It's a decent rum, but I wouldn't choose to sip it often. It is dryer and less sweet than typical rums, but has a kick of a spicy finish. The overall taste seems similar to molasses to me with a slight barky tinge. I tried mixing it with a shot of coke, but this wasn't great. I would fit with certain dryer mixed drinks.

It's sweeter than whisky and not so sweet as rum. I am sure I will drink it again.
