Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

Er netop indkøbt og har ikke smagt på den endnu. Håber at den kan leve op til min karakter
This was My First XO Rum. I decided that if you start to drink these category of rums you have to start with a highly recommended rum so you can compare with all the others you ever gonna drink. This Rum is stil one of my favorites and i was glad it was Zacapa XO who is still my example what is lovable and enjoyable and perfect RUM.
I found this rum to have a bit of a bite and the flavour from the cognac casks really comes through. Very enjoyable but not as smooth as some others I've tried (Dictator XO Insolent, English Harbour 1981, Ron Millonario XO Reserva Especial)
Nose is sweet and inviting. Note of vanilla and licorice. Taste is as sweet and smooth as the nose. Dark chocolate.
One word... great. Got it in Miami for 109$ ( jan 2016)
Thick, sweet, beautifull sipping rum. Because of the high price i would rate the 23 a little higher though.
Ein Rum wie man es sich vorstellt. Etwas fruchtig, zarte Zitrusfrüchte und weich im Abgang. Er entwickelt sich toll im Mund und hält lange an. Close to perfection.
Nice, really nice sipping rum. Less sweet than Zacapa 23 which people often complain (slightly) about.
This is one my favorites to date. The caramel profile really stands out as well as banana and molasses. To say this is smooth is an understatement. It has a great, buttery consistency and great finish. If you have the opportunity to purchase a bottle, take it!

It is rich with coffee notes and a little tobacco.

Quite expensive but a great bottle. The nose is strong with a lot a sweet. It is more straight forward than the Millonario XO for example and delivers it's power with a bit less subtility (that being good or bad depending on your taste).
A great Rum but not perfect. Overpriced I find...
