Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

I have the bottle that looks like a brandy bottle. This rum is sweet, rich, smooth, elegant, fragrant and it looks great in any bar. The price is a little high, around $95, but is a nice drink for those times that you want a little more. One of the best sipping rums that I have tried. This version of Zacapa is ultra smooth, sweet and light. A go to when I want something a little special.
I actually rate this 8.5.
Just below 1055 Plantation XO 20th Anniversary.
Pretty smooth, very good taste.
There's absolutely nothing confronting or difficult in this rum. Fantastic on ice, and even better neat.
Touch sweet for my taste, no particular tang, but that didn't stop me having to restrain myself. You will guard this bottle more jealously than ice cream, it's that good.
I think is a good rum but for it’s value it has to be a great rum. Good for sipping, expecting much more from it.
Its better than Zacapa 23 solera, but still not worth price for me. Artificial taste, bad solera usage.
When I first reserved this amazing bottle design for a package. I was thinking I would most likely not enjoy it. But I was very surprised it was a very nice smooth sipping and complex tasting rum.
Smooth and very sweet. Can't go wrong with this one. Aroma of vanilla. And the legs drip like syrup.
Before Zacapa XO, I would have told you I wasn't a rum fan. This rum changed my mind. It's excellent.

It is rich with coffee notes and a little tobacco.

One of my favourites to get at duty free for just over $100. Beautiful box and bottle and the rum is amazing. Sweet but not syrupy; dark colour with hints of molasses. Definitely some vanilla and tropical fruit in there.
