Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)

Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.

The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.

The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Nice Rum at a good price, great straight, but not so pricey as to cause guilt when mixing with a splash of diet coke

Very smooth rum. I can sip this for hours. Great texture and finish.

I used to have a pretty unpopular opinion, that I far prefered the 23 to the pricier XO. My go-to when out and about. Maybe it's because I got charged $35 for a single of XO and half that for the same amount of the 23? I have since seen the error of my ways. They are both amazing in their own right(s).

Bought this on a whim and am impressed. Very smooth but quite sugary. Good starter rum

Not a bad rum. Not great either. And have to take one star off for the price. Should be in the $30 range not $45 range. That makes it disappointing.

Had this at a bar served neat. It was really good and smooth. Not harsh at all. Not overly sweet. There is an apparent caramel flavor but again not overpowered. Will definitely purchase a bottle of my own

Egy kicsit túlértékelt, (az árára értem) de finom rum.

I had heard so many good things about this rum and indeed it was very good stuff.

Výtečný poměrně hodně sladký rum. Kdo má rád sladké rumy, tak k tomuto rumu se jistě vrátí pro jeho podmanivou sladkost.

Decided to get a new hobby and that hobby is Rum. Bought this and after first taking a big swig and being surprised that it wasn’t as delicious as the reviews lead me to believe I realised I need to understand rum a bit better. 4 weeks later and I’ve now got a cabinet with 24 types of rum in and starting to better understand the subtleties and varieties. Came back to this again , sipped and there’s some seriously nice depth of flavour I didn’t understand before but also a lot of sweetness I never noticed. At A$100 , it’s a good sipping rum that I’m not worried about hoarding for years like some of my others.
