Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

I only drink this with coca cola.
It was my favorit until i explored the wonders and taste of all the other rums we have in the world.

This is a very tasty, smooth rum with just enough barrel flavor.
Tasted only as an in-store sample.
You know, there are some nice flavours here. Wine and whisky casks add some nuance. It's just too damn sweet, too expensive, and has that pesky misleading 23 figured so prominently on the front label.
A nice Diago rum, well made but for my taste a bit to much young and alcoholic rums inside. 7 points

I don't know why, but this rum is one of the most offered in pubs(bars) in our coutry(Slovakia), its semi sweet good balanced and people like the age and therefore is really popular.

Zacapa is sweeter rum with very good taste and a little of smoke aroma. Great for sipping and enjoying this delicacy.

I really like this as a sipping rum! Perfect for sitting in front of the fire and reading a book!
Sorry, not much to say except I like this rum. I drink it neat as I settle into my evening. Great flavor and a very smooth sipper.

This has taken over my top slot, pushing Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva into second place. Nose is sweet with dates, molasses and brown sugar and Bourbon barrel in the background. Less syrupy and in your face than Diplomatico.
