Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

My first rum. So good that I started my love for rum. Sweet and nice
A great rum that's easy to get hold of. Still a bit to the top score thou
This rum, in my opinion, may be the smoothest rum out there. I find ithat goes down a bit too smooth at times is troublesome because it disappears so fast. I recommend it straight, with whiskey stones, or maybe one ice cube as you don't want to water it down. The sweetness is there for sure but I personally don't feel it's overpowering. Not an every day drinker but more for occasion.
Beautiful sipping rum. Worth the money and is very smooth. Long legs in glass and looks as divine as it tastes
This is a very sweet rum that my younger friends enjoy. It is definitely not in the same class of other aged rums. But it serves it's purpose. Don't have the same expectation as an Appleton or Flor de Cana.
I like hitting this Rum for a change in flavor . Sweet & smooth , great fragrance , pour over ice
Diffrent taste than other good rums. Tried to drink it with ice but didnt like it.
I enjoy rum of all types and this a good to very good rum...
My first rum I tried that wasn't a 20ish dollars, good but a but sweat, sold at local grocery stores.
I dont like Zacapa 23 becuase its overpriced. The rum is quite nice but in my opinion it belongs 1 level lower in the cost range.
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

"The interplay between the wood of the barrel and the liquor contents gives the alcohol its flavour, colour and character..."

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
